It's May Already?!

This semester has been flying by!  Our students have been so great and involved in the activities program, we're having a blast with them!  We've done some really fun things since February like visiting the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, volunteering, attending a Manitoba Moose Ice Hockey Game, visiting the Forks when the Stanley Cup was in town and all sorts of other fun things.

...we learned how to cook a family style dinner in a Canadian home...

...and here we were volunteering at Winnipeg Harvest, sorting potatoes was a lot of work!

The Manitoba Moose game was a lot of fun!

And so was getting pictures with the Stanley Cup at the Forks!

We laughed so hard we cried at the High School Improv show as part of the Winnipeg Comedy Festival...

...And saw some pretty crazy basketball skills on display when the Harlem Globetrotters were in town.

Our last event in April was a really fun night at The Real Escape!  Students had to work together to solve puzzles and escape after the bank heist!  Can't wait to see what May brings!

Welcome New Students!!

The new semester is under way and we've done some really fun things!  First we welcomed all of our new students...

And in true Winnipeg fashion we attended all the outdoor events we could!  They included the first ever Great Ice Show, ice skating at the Forks, and an annual Winnipeg tradition Festival Du Voyageur!

The first few weeks of the semester have been a blast!! We can't wait to spend the rest of the year exploring Winnipeg with our new guests!

January!

January has come and gone and there was so much going on! As it was the end of the semester we had to say goodbye to many students but also welcomed some new ones! We held goodbye lunches at each of the school and stopped in at Koats for Kids to volunteer.

December!!

Wow! December has been such a busy month! We can't believe its already Christmas and winter break!  Here's a quick recap of all the things we've done this month!

We started the month with the illusionist Darcy Oake at the MTS Centre! Darcy put on an amazing show and we were left wondering how he did such amazing things!

Next up on the December agenda was a visit to the Manitoba Legislature for their annual Christmas open house.  There were choirs from elementary and middle schools from all around Winnipeg that preformed and we were able to see the House of Commons and the rest of the building all decorated for the holidays.

Since its the season for giving here in Manitoba we also took a day to help out at the local Koats for Kids office.  Koats for Kids collects winter clothing for children of all ages and distributes it to families who cannot afford proper winter clothing for their children.

Next on the agenda was lunch at a Winnipeg favorite, The Old Spaghetti Factory.

After our bellies were full we walked over to the outdoor ice skating rink at the Forks and had a great time skating! For some students this was a first, others seemed like old pros.

And then, last night we participated in a real Winnipeg Christmas tradition and went to see the Royal Winnipeg Ballet perform The Nutcracker!  It was such a fantastic show, and it even snowed outside to give it a real holiday feel.

Phew! That was a busy month!  Now time for some holidays!
