Culture Days This Weekend!

This weekend is Culture Days across Canada, and in Winnipeg there will be hundreds of free activites all over the city, including performances at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet building, backstage tours of the Prairie Theatre Exchange, lots of free concerts across Winnipeg, art demonstrations, walking tours, a choclatier grand opening with demonstrations and tastings, a symphony and opera open house at the Concert Hall, a Chinese martial arts demonstration, a midnight choir, and many others.  You can find a full list with times and locations here

Blue Bombers Game

This past Friday, about 50 of us went to see a Canadian football game with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.  It was a chilly evening and an interesting game.

 

More Cooking Nights

This week we had two more Canadian Cooking and Living Workshops.   Now all of our high school students have learned to make spaghetti, chocolate chip cookies, and wash the dishes!

Saturday at the Zoo

This past Saturday we visited the Assiniboine Park Zoo.  The day started out sunny, then rained, and was sunny again by the time we got there. Lots of animals were out, and we saw the penguins and the polar bear during feeding time.

Manyfest Downtown This Weekend

This weekend is the Manyfest Festival.  It will have a free outdoor movie in the park in fornt of the Legislative building, bands playing free music stages, a big dance on Broadway, food truck wars, and many other activities.  You can see a full list here
